A mother needs more than a card for Mother’s Day; she needs a home to put it in
(05/04/2010)
What: Instead of having Mother’s Day weekend for themselves, moms of famous athletes, models and other Habitat for Humanity Toronto volunteers will swing a hammer and make a difference in another family’s life. Mothers, sons and daughters will help build 20 Habitat Toronto homes together on Sunday, May 9th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 pm at the charity’s William’s Way build site. Volunteers and Habitat Toronto homeowners will build alongside former NHL star Eric Lindros and his mom Bonnie, supermodel Monika Schnarre and mayoral candidate Sarah Thomson. The Mother’s Day Build is a day to honour our mothers, and what better way to do that than by giving Toronto mothers, fathers and children living in need a hand up, not a hand out?

***Media are invited to attend and interviews will be available***
